Root regains his recently lost top spot after two hundreds in as many matches against New Zealand.    Root's replacement of labuchane, in recent test ranking updates, is significant in terms of his regaining the top which he had lost to the same Labuchane in Ashes earlier this year.  Jeo Root gained 17 points at the back of his 176 against Kiwis in second test.   Labushane will have his chances against Sri Lanka in their upcoming series this month.   Shah Faisal             With the last two seasons interrupted by Covid and mid-season suspensions, this season of IPL got a free license to be played in front of a full crowd that has always remained the haul mark of played in India; the enthusiasm of the Indian crowd in cricket matches is a rare sight that is only witnessed in India or World Cup matches of India. The sight of 105 thousand people attending this year's final authenticates the phenomenon of India and its love for cricket. KOHLI'S MOST DISMAL YEAR

Shah Faisal     He was fishing outside off and caught a shark in his net .  2021 was by far a stable year in comparison to 2020 where the world saw all its squares turned into night scenes of graveyards and so were cricket grounds where doors were shut beyond which played 22 players only acknowledged by their support staff. 2021 saw the visuals of spectators chanting for players especially in England where a full house of crowd chanted for the English team when they were remarkably chasing a total of 330. It also saw a cricket game in the world’s largest cricket stadium in terms of crowd capacity . It also saw a full house in an India v Pakistan T20I game in Dubai. Now that 2021 has officially folded itself in a cover of the past and has given way to 2022 with the hope that the cricketing world will witness regular cricket escaping from the toxic routine of quarantine and social distancing protocols for professional cricketers, let us see and analyze the limping jo...

Anderson, Hardwork and Kohli.

Shah Faisal   This Article was writen in whimsical  flow of thoughts with concentrated blend of emotions. It is entirely  subjective and may seem exaggerative. If it gives you any sense of fallacy or lack of rationality, then you are read it in its best spirit.... 'Patience bear fruit' is often tossed up to impatient and hopeless people to indicate a fact of life; that things don't come easy even if you deserve it. The word hardwork is then added for people who want to achieve greatness in time and time to come. In sports the proverb becomes something  like ; patience and hardwork, togather, renders history.  World is studded with stories of those who have obeyed this proverb.      James Anderson is an exciting narrative from those stories.  He is probably among those who came, played and excelled to excellence solely based on their will-power. He was void of any great natural talent that could guarantee  fanciful achievements. Wit...

VIRAT KOHLI In QUAGMIRE; WHY IS NOT SCORING RUNS? ?

Shah Faisal Ecstatic Anderson celebrates wicket of  dejected Virat Kohli      Anderson's dismissal of Virat Kohli in first innings at Nottingham summed up the toxic 21 months that Kohil had gone through in a free fall manner. His artfulness and consistency accompanied by overweening desire, to score big and impact the game, had made him to adopt advance and peculiar methods of preparation. Amongst these is his firmness and commitment to shots. Kohil is a strong believer of committing to the shots that one decides to play. He is not the one who would check his shot at last second or play two shots to one ball. When he decide to drive he drives, if a ball should be defended he defends.            This is the constituent of what the coaches call clarity of mind. Sangakkara is one who often advocates such approach. Clear mind allows you to concentrate on one particular moment, that resultantly gives you the space to indulge in ...

Story Of 2nd Inning ; Australia vs England 2nd ODI 2020.

ShahFaisal Archer and Wokes turned the table on Australia with efficient bowling in mid innings.       The 2nd ODI between England and Australi might not be considered a close and nail-biting game after sometime, but it, surely, was a genuine ODI played by Best odi players, having relatively par sore on the board, with intellegent bowlers from both sides supported by demons in the pitch. It often happens that a low scoring game demands more wit from the captain regarding his bowlers circulations and field setting, and the bowlers have less space to exercise the innovation against batsman. All of this happened on the ground in the second innings when Australia came out to bat- chasing 232 against England.       It seemed quite clear that England were highly expecting from Archer to,both, take early wickets and also tame dynamic batsmen like Warner, Stoinis and Finch who can blow the wind out of oppositions' sails in no time. Archer did succeed in removing Warner and Stoinis , it wa...

FAB FOUR OR SUPERB SEVEN? The dynamics of current Batsmanship Oligarchy..

Babar Azam, KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran are strongly battering the tag of cricket kings, they contain the same spirit and ablity to become as magnificent as the Fab Four Currently the cricket world is going through a, reasonably, good patch, teams have started winning games in overseas conditions. With T20 CWC around the corner more competition is expected to happen as we have seen so far between India & New zealand and England & S Africa. The up comming events will bring more adventure which would possibly create and introduce much better players.         So Far, the cricketing world in batting is hinging around four major player namely; Kholi , Williamson, Root and Smith. But it's been long since they have collectively occupied the face of cricket batsmanship, most of them have marginalized their self to one format like; Smith who playes good in tests, Root is only better in ODIs, williamson has just started to stamp his authority on T20 cricket. This leaves us wit...

The Decade: Story of Cricketing Nations... Part 1

The decade 2010...2019 saw what the pundits had predicted on the turn of the decade. The predictions were; Batting will grow in stature and bowling will shrink. T20 leagues and cricket will enhance its demand and scope while test will see its existence rattling on the shores. Somethings of the sort happened , things went pretty much the same way except 2019 where test cricket saw its legs strengthened by supportive statements from players like Kholi. The ashes innings  from Stokes and close games like Ashes 2019.  A lot happened in this decade,  we will see each time repestively and will trace their growth, fall and transition throught the 10 years. AUSTRALIA           AUSTRALIA was underdogs in 2010, they were declining from their epitome postion. They lost the 2010 WT20 final to ENGLAND , lost the Ashes as well. They lost in India , Failed in 2012 WT20 again. Lost to Pakistan in DUBAI in tests. Lost , Ponting, Lee and Hussy respectively.  The only good thing happened to the...

Why the ball is not swinging?

Since 2010 cricket has witnessed a constant decline in the swing of ball.  In this passing decade batting has become the dominanat  force and bowling has become just a service provider to batsmen.  The top bolwlers in the world currently are neither super tall and fast like Garner, Holding, Dennis Lilly , Akhter and Lee  nor they are supreme swing masters like Wasim ,Waqar, Mcgrath, Bond and Pollock. They are in the middle with no full strength in a single aspect like sheer Swing or raw pace.            Cummins, Starc, Boult , Bumrah ,  are bowlers who can swing a cricket ball with good speed , but their good speed is something which Shoaib or Lee would bowl at when not on top of their rhythm.  They bowl in the window of 140...147kmph which can be called good speed but not fast bowling, similarly they can swing the ball which is, almost, entirely  dependent upon the conditions. They can swing if the conditions allow t...

Hail SHEMRON HETMYER !

Hetmyer and   midwicket sixes are something that simultameously comes in mind when either of the two gets a mention. Century in first ODI 2019 India.           West Indies won the first Odi- 2019- against India owing to a surreal innings from Shemron Hetmyer-139 runs- who played uncharacteristically a long innings that is hardly associated with him or any Caribbean batsman except Hope. Hetmyer came at one down with west Indies needing a record chase to win in Chennai. He batted with arrogance and domination. The left hander hit seven sixes with most of them on leg side, he hit Jadeja with utter disdain and authority , one of his sixes went on the roof which is rear on highly bulid Indian grounds.             Hetmyer's innings was not only remarkable for its fluidness and  staunch hitting, its reccurence on Indian soil is the most noteworthy element. This was his second century on indian soil in his last six odi's.  Before this , he had hit 106 runs in the first odi in 2018.    ...

Jofra Archer racially Absued ; New Zealand and its Nature of Tackling such Issues.

Jofra Archer on monday reported his abuse by some spectator from the crowd after his dismissal against New zealand in the first test. This is the second time that such an event of intolerable behaviour expression happened in the country . Not long ago the world saw how a mosque was invaded by a shooter opening fire on people who were getting ready for prayer.  Happenings of such events is a critical sign for any society, it pervades the air of distrust among other scocities and the place  where it happens.  New zealand officials have encountered both the issues with positive and  sincere interest.  The world saw how Kiwi  prime minister displayed her sympathy with the victims and called the incident an issue of brutal organization of thought pattrens based on baised and intolerant theories. In the same manner the kiwi officials prolaimed their disappointment with the racial abuse happened to Archer by a kiwi audience. Willaimson and the board officials conveyed their sympathise to Arch...

Kohli And Babar Azam; What Baber should learn from Virat.

Babar Azam is enjoying his journey toward great batsmanship since the test series against New zealand in UAE-2018. His form, shape and technique is getting better with every game. His due greatness is evidant if he continues to play in his current fashion. Test cricket, still, is supposed to be his weaker link and his everge-52 in tests in 2018-19- shows how much effort he has put in to enhance his credibility as an established test bastman. His century- 104 runz- against Australia in Gabba  showed his worth and flair as a batsman and quick-self learner. In post match interview Babar conceded his undue shot selection and also discussed how that shot prompted him to play cautiously on merit which is haul mark of a great batsman.     However Baber isn't playing in an ordinary batsmen-dry era, his contemprories are the fab-fours -kholi, Smith, Williamson and Root- of whom everyone is the master of his own game and owner of his own ground.   Kholi is the best among ...
